Psychiatric Evaluations

Our providers perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to rule out or diagnose emotional, behavioral, or developmental disorders. These evaluations can be performed with children, adolescents, or adults. The beginning age for these evaluations is 6 years old, and the providers evaluate patients typically up to 60 years old. The psychiatric NPs do perform evaluations for all adult age groups across the lifespan, however. They consider behaviors present and in relation to medical, genetic, environmental, social, cognitive (thinking), emotional, and educational parts that may be negatively affected as a result of these behaviors. If you are experiencing distressing symptoms, a proper psychiatric evaluation is required to be correctly diagnosed. This is one important part of your mental health treatment plan meaning you will receive the right treatment for the right diagnosis! During the evaluation, may use questionnaires or interview techniques to gather information about your mental health condition. The great part? There are no wrong answers!

Medication Management

Wait a minute? You weren’t planning on taking medication? Medication management is one of the intricate parts of your mental health treatment that our providers not only believe work, but will only recommend if necessary. Guess what? The providers also know that medications are not magic. If you receive a psychiatric diagnosis, the providers will discuss in detail if they recommend medication, along with other interventions, based on the disorder that they feel you are experiencing. This means you can start feeling your best as soon as possible, but it may take a little work on your part too. Which brings us to our next topic of brief psychotherapy.

Brief Psychotherapy

When you know the core of your mental health symptoms and can understand each of the steps in your treatment plan, you can feel confident in your psychiatric care. You wouldn’t expect to build a house without a hammer, nails, level, or wood, would you? Our providers will discuss therapeutic interventions during your visits so that you can have the tools you need to combat your symptoms with an improved insight of yourself. If our providers think you need more in depth therapy, you will get just that! Therapy is an FDA approved means to helping you feel better which means there’s research to back it up. Our providers use evidenced based practice for all of their patients in the clinic.

ADHD Testing

Computerized Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) testing is performed in our office for children beginning at ages 6. Testing is offered to patients up to 60 years old. The providers will discuss with you if they feel you or your child require this testing to confirm or rule out ADHD. Either computerized QbTech test can be done in person at the clinic (QBTest) or via telehealth (Qbcheck) in the comfort of your own home. Telehealth ADHD testing will only be done under specific circumstances. Your provider will discuss with each patient their  QBTest results, and what they mean in regards to an ADHD diagnosis. Explore more information find about Qb, what they have to offer, and how they are modernizing ADHD evaluations.

Genesight

Our providers understand that you may have felt no relief with medications in the past, which can become troubling when deciding how to feel your best. While there are many reasons this can happen, one reason is your genetic composition. Our NPs may be able to offer specific testing (Genesight) that provides a picture of how your body and mind may benefit from one medication versus another. They have used Genesight testing for years, which can provide them with this information, and have helped many patients who had lost hope in medicinal interventions all together. If you or your child would benefit from this testing, or if you are interested in this testing because of many medication let downs, this may be the answer for you. View Genesight’s website to learn in detail about this amazing test A Good Mind Too offers.
